Making a Difference in Our Community
The Kay-Grant Group’s Kevin De LaVega and Courtney McCormick are heading up The Kay-Grant Group’s Toy Drive to make Christmas special for 51 kindergarten students at Lindbergh Elementary in the Mesa Public Schools system.
Kevin and Courtney want to help out families in our community where Christmas is a financial burden.
The duo reached out to teachers in the Mesa Public Schools system to find the perfect classroom to surprise. They found three kindergarten classes at Lindbergh Elementary, near Broadway Road and Stapley Drive.
De LaVega has a special place in his heart for bringing Christmas joy to students attending economically disadvantaged schools.
When Kevin was young, his family struggled financially. He remembers returning from winter break each year and teachers asking the students what they got for Christmas. Because Kevin had nothing to tell them, he would make up the presents he received. He never wants any child to feel that way.
In addition to the Amazon wish list of presents created by the teachers, Kevin and Courtney added three $50 gift cards for the teachers of these classes to help with supplies and several beanies to keep the children warm and cozy.
The deadline to contribute to this worthy cause is Tuesday, December 13th, at noon. This deadline ensures the gifts are wrapped and delivered to the students of Lindbergh Elementary on the day they leave for winter break, Friday, December 16th.
If you want to make a difference in a child’s Christmas experience, please click here to order an Amazon gift. That’s it, no running out to buy a present, wrapping it, and delivering it to us. Instead, pick the present from the wish list and pay on Amazon. Kevin and Courtney will wrap them up and deliver them.
