Have you been noticing bright green bicycles parked at the Optima Camelview? A new bike-share company called LimeBike has reached the sunny streets of Arizona and is making Scottsdale the first foothold to take part in this bike-share program. With 150 bikes being placed in this location, residents and visitors can conveniently access the downtown district, roam through Eldorado Park, and stop at Fashion Square, all while enjoying fresh air and scenic views of the city.
Don’t get these confused with Grid Bikes. Grid Bikes that are seen in Phoenix, Tempe, and Mesa, have fixed docking stations that cost the city to maintain and operate the bike share network. LimeBike is eliminating that cost by offering a dockless share system that relies on GPS and offers a low-cost option for students, visitors and residents alike to move about and explore Scottsdale.
Take a spin on LimeBikes by finding a bike near you through the LimeBike app. Bikes will initially be placed near Old Town and ASU Skysong but will make their way to nearby parks, employment hubs, bus stops and other surrounding areas. If you are considering buying an Old Town Condo for sale, this is an added benefit of purchasing in the area. The LimeBike app also offers easy navigation by simply scanning the code with the app to unlock the bike. When finished, park the bike at designated areas for bike parking, or on a bike rack, and the app will provide you with a completed summary of your ride.
