Although Scottsdale is known as the best city for golf courses in Arizona, Phoenix is home to several amazing golf courses, and each golf course possesses its own unique layout, amenities, and real estate options. In this section, we will delve into the different golf courses, its location in Phoenix, and who might enjoy living near the golf course.

Arizona Biltmore

Located in the heart of the bustling, vibrant Midtown Phoenix neighborhood of Biltmore, this 36-hole resort is a great golf course community to call home. Built in the 1920s, Arizona Biltmore Golf Club’s Adobe and Links courses feature incredible views of the Phoenix Mountain Preserve, mature tree-lined fairways, and is open to the public and resort guests!

Amenities offered at Arizona Biltmore Golf Club include a driving range, chipping/putting greens, a full-service restaurant, and top-notch instructors.

Arizona Country Club

One of two private country clubs with condos near the golf course, Arizona Country Club is also one of the Valley’s most historic golf courses. The country club was established in 1946, and served as the host of the Phoenix Open in alternating years along with Phoenix Country Club starting in the mid-50s through the mid-70s.

Not only do members enjoy an incredible golf experience, they also enjoy a slew of benefits as members of one of the premier private clubs in Arizona. Amenities include a Spa and Fitness Center, a refreshing pool, tennis courts, and a full calendar of social events and mixers.

Although most of the real estate surrounding Arizona Country Club consists of single family homes, the popular gated condo community of Arcadia Grove is just a couple miles away.

Arizona Grand Golf Resort

Arizona Grand Golf Resort is located near Baseline Road and Interstate 10 in South Phoenix. This popular golf resort has received numerous awards for both the golf course and the high level of service provided to resort guests, the public, and members. Featuring a fun links-style course, the layout is ideal for players of all skill levels, and provides scenic views of the desert landscape surrounding the area.

Legacy Golf Resort

Located next to Raven Golf Club, near the intersection of Baseline Road and 32nd street, Legacy Golf Resort is a popular 18-hole facility in South Phoenix. Routinely ranked as one of the best public golf courses in Arizona by Golfweek and Ranking Arizona Magazine, Legacy Golf Resort features a simple, straightforward layout that makes it fair for event beginner golfers.

Amenities include an incredible short game practice area, driving range, lessons, and the Trails End Bar & Grill. Living near this golf course has other perks too, like convenient access to Interstate 10, South Mountain, and great restaurants.

Lookout Mountain Golf Club

Situated in the scenic Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs Resort in North Phoenix, Lookout Mountain Golf Club is another 18-hole gem. With its traditional desert golf course layout, this 18-hole course provides incredible views of North Mountain Park and the Phoenix Mountains Preserve. 

Before your round at Lookout Mountain, enjoy a warm up at the driving range and short game area, then head over to Pointe in Tyme for breakfast, lunch, or an after-round dinner! The close proximity to the resort makes it easy for guests to enjoy a comfortable stay during their visit, and the neighborhood surrounding Lookout Mountain is one of the quieter areas in the Valley.

Papago Golf Course

Papago is considered by many to be the best municipal golf course in Phoenix. Located near 52nd Street and McDowell Rd, Papago Golf Course received a massive upgrade to its practice facility, and is now the home of the Arizona State University Golf Team.

Sloping fairways, undulating greens, and incredible mountain views provide a unique golf experience for locals and tourists alike. After your round, Lou’s Bar and Grill offers a full menu, a full bar, and outdoor seating.

Although there are no homes bordering any holes at Papago Golf Course, there are a couple of popular condo communities less than a five minute drive of the entrance. These condos are not only close to Papago, they are also within a stone’s throw of the Loop 202, which provides easy access to Tempe, Scottsdale, and Downtown Phoenix

Phoenix Country Club

Arizona’s oldest golf and country club has been providing an incredible golf experience for over 100 years. Nestled near the northeast corner of Thomas and 7th Street, Phoenix Country Club is a throwback to golf courses from the early 20th-Century: relatively flat, narrow fairways, deep bunkers, and slick, sloping greens.

Phoenix Country Club offers its members a variety of amenities, including fine dining, fitness center, three different pools, tennis, and a full social calendar. 

There are some incredible loft and condo communities in the area, which is in the heart of Midtown Phoenix. Convenient access to Interstate 10, great local restaurants, and shopping centers make this an ideal area for owning a rental condo.

Raven Golf Club

Nestled near the intersection of 32nd Street and Baseline Road, just east of Legacy Golf Resort, Raven Golf Club is a beautiful 18-hole golf facility. The championship layout also features scenic views of South Mountain, and is always kept in magnificent condition. 

Amenities at Raven Golf Club include a chipping green with practice bunker, putting green, and dual-sided grass driving range. The restaurant offers breakfast and lunch, and a fully stocked golf shop will provide everything you need.

Stonecreek Golf Club

The last course on our list is by no means the least. Stonecreek Golf Club is located just south of the Paradise Valley Mall, and features 18 holes of beautiful, championship golf. Although the course is shorter by modern standards, well-placed bunkers and water hazards provides plenty of challenge for golfers of all abilities.

Their short game area is a great place to hone in your chipping and bunker play, and the driving range is ideal for warming up or an afternoon range session. Other amenities include a restaurant with full bar, a putting green, and bag attendant service.

In addition to being close to Paradise Valley Mall, Stonecreek Golf Club is also within a short drive of Highway 51, fitness centers, and amazing popular restaurants.
