Peterson Park Community Description

The aptly-named Peterson Park is located to the southeast from the housing section, which is where you will also find the historic Peterson House. The subdivision, park, and house is named after Niels Petersen, a Denmark native who came to Arizona in 1871. Over the course of three decades, Petersen became one of the wealthiest men in the Valley, and the house is on the National Registry of Historic Places. In addition to the House Museum, the park also offers a playground, picnic tables, and plenty of lush grass to run around and play on.

Residents of Peterson Park are also a short drive away from Arizona Mills, which is a great place to shop and dine. This huge mall features a Harkins IMAX Theater, a Conn's Home Plus, and several popular outlet stores. Once the shopping is done, head over to Rainforest Cafe for some delicious American cuisine, or enjoy authentic Mexican fare at Garcia's Mexican Restaurant.
